ValueOne is looking for a Sourcing Manager with excellent knowledge in end-to-end Supply Chain for a consultant assignment at a manufacturing company in Stockholm. The assignment lasts for six months and will transition to permanent employment after completion of the assignment.

The role
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for implementing and driving strategy within specific areas such as mechanics and electronics. The responsibility includes introducing new suppliers, managing risks and costs, ensuring quality and compliance, setting strategy direction, and using available data to perform comparative analysis of different sourcing options. You will lead supplier activities throughout projects, establish supplier partnerships and agreements.

Main Tasks:
  • Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategy: Create and execute a sourcing strategy that aligns with customer needs and enhances market competitiveness.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage relationships with suppliers to achieve quality, delivery, and cost goals throughout the development process.
  • Optimize End-to-End Supply Chain: Streamline the supply chain from supplier selection to production unit delivery.
  • Negotiate Commercial Terms: Engage in negotiations to establish favorable terms and agreements.
  • Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Work closely with colleagues across different functions.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Drive supplier performance improvement and mitigate risks through collaboration.
  • Identify New Suppliers and Technologies: Continuously explore opportunities to enhance platform performance while reducing costs.
  • Oversee Logistics: Ensure timely delivery of components to project designers.
  • Implement Sourcing Concepts and Supplier Scouting: Develop innovative approaches to sourcing and actively scout for potential suppliers.
  • Manage Supply Chain Definitions and Associated Risk: Define supply chain processes and manage associated risks.
  • Coordinate Production Plans with R&D: Collaborate with Research and Development (R&D) teams to align production plans.
  • Align Product Ramp-Up Plans: Ensure that product ramp-up plans are in sync with management and R&D objectives.
  • Coordinate Supplier and Production Ramp-Up Plans: Facilitate smooth ramp-up of suppliers and production activities.
Experience and competencies
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business or economics, or equivalent experience in strategic sourcing or similar roles. You should have excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, proficiency in business analysis including cost breakdown analysis, and strong negotiation and contract management skills. Familiarity with lean concepts, engineering principles, and IT systems is desirable. Previous experience in sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain roles is preferred, with an engineering or technical background being advantageous.

Effective relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, along with analytical abilities to evaluate supplier performance and financial acumen to assess total costs. The candidate should thrive in pressure situations, demonstrate logical thinking, and excel in managing multiple projects simultaneously. They should be results-oriented, proactive in finding solutions, and possess excellent business English proficiency. A high degree of understanding complex problems and the ability to drive strategic initiatives independently are also necessary for this role.
