As a proactive, structured and customer-oriented project engineer, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers, domain specialists, customers and operations professionals to develop and deploy innovative AI and analytics solutions that empower our customers to maximize the value of energy flexibility from batteries, solar, wind and consumption loads.

Part of Å Energi's strategic investment in energy flexibility technology development and innovation, Flextools AS is a small and nimble technology company with a solid ownership structure and ambitious goals (best of both worlds). Based in Oslo (Lysaker) and Stockholm (+Uppsala), we are excited to welcome you to our team.

The project engineer will be responsible for Flextools' technical deliveries to our customers, including but not limited to the following:
  • Initial screening of technical installation in collaboration with customers, possibly involving on-site inspection
  • Identify and propose suitable technical layout for metering and asset control
  • Create topology and single-phase diagram drawings for proposed solutions
  • Take responsibility for solution design and ordering of equipment with third-party vendors, including shipping to customer site
  • Liaise and coordinate with electrical installation sub-contractors to support customer installations
  • Hand-over to operations in Flextools
The project engineers responsbilities:
  • Responsible for delivering on expectation; time, quality and cost
  • Ensure that this is a smooth and efficient process, in collaboration with the rest of the Flextools team, the customer, subcontractors and technology partners.
  • Identify flexible assets at the end-customer and verify the value potential
  • Document deliveries during the onboarding process
  • Coordinate integration with suppliers of 3rd party control systems
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant education from university/college or vocational certificate (lärlingsbevis) with relevant experience is a requirement (e.g. electrical engineer, electrician, automation or installation electrician)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with technical engineering projects, coordination and or implementation
  • Outgoing, proactive and service-oriented attitude
  • Creative, curious, flexible and solution-oriented
  • Good skills in Swedish/Norwegian and English, oral and written
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge about battery energy storage systems, EMS, PV and/or wind control systems
  • Experience from installation of control systems
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, e.g. Modbus, IEC-104 etc.
  • Experience from grid connection codes with DSOs and/or TSOs, e.g. RfG
  • Knowledge of ancillary services markets
  • Good business understanding in addition to technical and analytical skills
  • Experience in building automation and/or energy and power optimization
