We are now looking for a passionate and skilled integrationand Automation Software Engineer based in Stockholm to fulfill that goal with us.

The Flower Hub team is on a mission to develop scalable solutions for connecting flexible assets in the energy system to Flower's platform. The Flower Hub is a physical device that is installed together with a battery in order to give it superpowers of flexibility.

About the roleAs a Software Engineer focusing on asset integration and device automation, you will together with your colleagues have a key role in setting the foundation of our Flower Hub and Flower Box and how they integrate towards new and existing hardware consumers/producers. Assets like batteries, hydro, hydrogen and wind. Our challenges are scaling the implementation, integrating more assets as well as interacting with other internal teams working on asset controlling, trading and data processing. We are currently scaling fast and seeing two important growths: tens of thousands of smaller devices being added making the role exposed to IoT challenges and larger single assets being integrated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain modular Python components for the machine-to-machine communication
  • Integrate new inverters and batteries using protocols like Modbus TCP
  • Integrate other producers and consumers of electricity hardware
  • Develop tests protocols for end-to-end testing of the systems needed for trading

In your daily work, you will work closely together with other integration engineers in the team as well as with other software engineers, full-stack developers, data engineers and the product owner.

As we are operating in a fast-paced and innovative environment, your tasks will vary over time, and enjoying cross-collaboration with people in other teams will be key to figuring out the best solutions!

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Computer Science or similar, documented experience that can be considered equivalent
    • You like to work independently and thrive in an agile environment where coming up with new ideas and initiatives is encouraged
    • You find it meaningful to work on Flower’s mission of accelerating the energy transition.
    • At least three years of relevant working experience
    • Experience with embedded systems
    • Experience with Linux operating systems, administration and remote management
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and mindset
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Strong programming skills in Python

    Some "nice-to-have" skills and experiences:

    • Theoretical or practical experience of control systems
    • Experience of building scalable IoT solutions
    • Networking skills (port forwarding, VPNs)
    • Experience working at a startup or scaleup
    • Experience working within the renewable energy sector
    • Experience with AWS Greengrass
    • Experience with Containerized edge workloads

    Location

    We value office collaboration but support some hybridework. Our office is at Söder Mälarstrand, minutes away from Gamla Stan subway station in Stockholm.
