Engineering Manager
With power from Swedish nature, we run the ancient factory Vårgårda Kvarn for our snuff production and we now need to strengthen our team with an Engineering Manager.
Job Description
As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and coordinate the Engineering department, including Building & Utilities and Environment, Health & Safety, to ensure the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Factory Lead, you will represent your area in the local management team and collaborate with various on-site functions and the global engineering team on larger projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee CapEx Projects, Production & Engineering Support, Waste Handling, HVAC, Buildings, Compressors, Water System, Steam System, Hydro Power, Electrical Network, Sprinkler System, Site Services, Environment, Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and global/local policies and procedures
- Achieve Engineering & EHS objectives through planning, implementation, analysis, and continuous communication using visual management tools
- Provide supervision, guidance, and direction to department members and manage all departmental communications
- Develop the team by identifying training needs, conducting staff appraisals, and ensuring safe work practices according to global and local standards

Your Profile
For the position of Engineering Manager we are seeking a dynamic individual with a proven track record in a similar role, eager to grow with us. You will be instrumental in driving technological advancements to keep our factory at the cutting edge of innovation, while also fostering the development of our people and teams through strong leadership. Your “can do” and “willing to help” attitude will be key to your success.
- Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering within the manufacturing industry
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
- Familiarity with Swedish Labor Law & Work Environment is advantageous
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in MS Project and CAD editors.
