Strategic Purchasing Director

Position Overview: As the Strategic Purchasing Director at Altris, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with suppliers to secure the highest quality materials and components for our advanced battery solutions. You will implement strategic purchasing initiatives, and contribute directly to the success and growth of our company. Responsibilities: - Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials without compromising quality or reliability. - Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts while maintaining strong relationships. - Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to align purchasing strategies with production needs and innovation goals. - Identify and onboard new suppliers, conducting thorough assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and ethical practices. - Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to make data-driven decisions and optimize the supply chain. - Implement best practices in procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the battery or related industry. - Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts, reducing costs, and improving supply chain performance. - Strong understanding of battery technologies, materials, and components sourcing. - Communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. - Proficiency in procurement software and analytical tool - Good to have: Startup experience!
