Schibsted Media is about to establish an IT organisation that will be responsible for all IT services in the new company. We are both dependent on highly skilled coworkers, as well as having excellent collaboration with the best vendors and partners.

We are now looking for a Sourcing & Vendor Manager that will play a key role in the success of Schibsted Media Tech, optimising procurement and vendor relationships for the entire Tech organisation.

You will be part of the Media IT CIO office, report directly to the CIO and initially have one sourcing & vendor specialist reporting to you.

What will you do in this role?

You will provide expertise, guidelines and hand on work with procurement, sourcing and vendor management for the Media Tech organisation. During the TSA period you will support Media Tech to enable the carve out of the existing services, as well as setting up new in accordance with Schibsted Media's future business needs.

As a Sourcing & Vendor Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • People management, initially for one sourcing and vendor specialist
  • Developing and implementing strategies for sourcing Tech and IT services and products, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Managing and optimising relationships with key Tech and IT vendors, negotiating contracts to achieve favourable terms and ensure service quality
  • Collaborating with other teams within Tech and IT and business leaders to understand their needs and ensure vendor services meet these requirements
  • Contract management processes including a process for how to handle all types of Tech and IT contracts (not only with strategic vendors)
  • Overseeing the procurement process, from vendor selection and contract negotiation to performance monitoring and relationship management
  • Conducting market analysis to stay informed of industry trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation

Key competencies:

  • Proven experience in Tech and IT procurement, sourcing, and vendor management, with a strong understanding of the market and trends
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favourable terms and managing contracts effectively
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, able to assess vendors and products to make informed decisions that align with business goals
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with both vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, fostering a cooperative environment that encourages innovation in procurement processes

“Nice to have”:

  • Experience with digital transformation projects and product development, understanding the procurement needs associated with new technologies and systems
  • Familiarity with the Tech landscape in Oslo/Stockholm, including local vendors and market dynamics
  • Certifications in procurement or supply chain management
  • Experience in Media, with a deep understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities present
