Head of Department for Urban Design

Job Description

Ramboll is now hiring a Head of Department for Urban Design in Stockholm. As a Head of Department, you will be responsible for leading the Department in line with Ramboll’s strategy, which means engaging & inspiring the team in Stockholm to be relevant and sustainable oriented.

You will also support the strategic goal in Division Urban Design to drive and develop early-stage planning, ensuring good design and driving progress towards a brighter, more sustainable future.

The department in Stockholm consists of both Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. It has 22 colleagues which is divided into the two teams of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. One of the key responsibilities in this role is to drive and develop the department with a strategic mindset of the client offer based on profession excellence and business acumen.

You will join our Urban Design division within Transport

The division Urban Design is a national organization that consist of three departments within Urban planning and Landscape architecture. Around 60 employees located in Stockholm, Uppsala, Luleå, Göteborg and Malmö work with urban planning, urban development, landscape architecture and road design.

Responsibilities and goals in the role

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Support and lead your department in their daily work and ensure that they continuously develop their skills and contribute to a sustainable winning friendly working environment.
• Leading a growing profitable business unit
• Business development, marketing, and sales
• Workforce planning (Strategic recruitment & Talent management)
• Project ownership & Client relations
• Be active and take responsibility for national and international collaborations.

One of the main goals of this role is to deliver on the Ramboll strategy The Partner for Sustainable Change, which include:

• Deliver design excellence & transform design services toward client co-creation
• Increase profitability and promote business mindset
• Grow and develop sustainable offerings within Urban Design
• Develop the department in Stockholm into a stronghold for Urban Design

• Architecture working experience in Urban Planning and/or Landscape Architecture

• Experience within the Architecture market in Stockholm
• People management experience
• Experience in Commercial Project management & Consulting
• Relevant University Degree
