About the role:

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (“SQA”) is responsible for ensuring that suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduce variation and waste, develop continuous improvements to meet quality standards, minimize quality costs, and maximize customer/consumer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. The SQA is the technical liaison between Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and the Supply Base. The candidate they are looking for will primarily serve one of the two plants in Sweden, with a supplier base spread around in Europe. The position includes frequent traveling to the plant in Huskvarna and to supplier locations primarily in Sweden, but also occasionally in Europe

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish, maintain and improve supplier quality assurance across supply base.
  • Closely work together with Purchasing, Project Management, R&D and Manufacturing to initiate the processes of APQP and PPAP in new or existing projects/parts
  • Perform audits on new and existing suppliers with the purpose of
  • evaluating the expected quality performance of the supplier, and provide relevant information into supplier selection decision forums and commodity management.
  • Guide the suppliers through the APQP process and approve the result of the suppliers Advanced Product Quality Planning (“APQP”) work.
  • Provide support to the supplier during the corrective action process effecting internal and external customers.
  • Develop improvement actions for underperforming suppliers designed to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Husqvarna Group quality requirements. Actions may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events.
  • Participate in internal and external drawing reviews to synchronize the demands in order to reduce risk and avoid misunderstanding.
  • Coordinate with Commodity Managers in the selection, assessment and approval of supplier and purchased parts.
  • Verify supplier PPAP submissions for all new part designs within assigned New Product Development (“NPD”) and Project improvements (“PI”).
