With a location in Gothenburg, where Micropower's battery systems development department is based, Micropower is now seeking a Mechanical Engineer.
In the role of Mechanical Engineer at Micropower, you will have comprehensive responsibility from idea and concept development to industrialization and continuous improvement of the company's lithium-ion batteries. As you design for high-volume production, your designs must meet requirements for cost, performance, and reliability. The design work is carried out in Inventor. Your duties also include collaborating with component suppliers and providing support to production in Växjö. The role encourages innovative ideas and creativity but requires a thorough structure and documentation in your work. This is a responsible and contact-rich role where, in addition to working with the design team, subcontractors, and production, you will also collaborate with other departments within Micropower, such as project managers, system engineers, electrical engineers, and testers.

* Designs must meet cost, performance, and reliability requirements
* Design work is done in Inventor
* Collaboration with component suppliers and providing support to production
* The role encourages innovative ideas and creativity
* Collaboration with designers, subcontractors, production, as well as project managers, system engineers, electrical engineers, and testers
* University education at least at the level of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
* Several years of experience and knowledge in mechanical design and DFMEA
* Good understanding of thermal, shock/vibration, and impact characteristics. Knowledge in calculating and simulating these aspects is an advantage
* Experience with 3D software, preferably Inventor
* Experience in designing with plastic and metal, and experience in battery development is a plus
* Experience working with standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 13849 is a plus
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Swedish is an advantage
