Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Systems Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team

What You Will Work On:

  • Adapt and implement safety standards and procedures for new technologies to secure compliance and performance in our distribution network.
  • Contribute to the development of a global safety culture in Sales through best practice sharing and continuous improvements.
  • Provide leadership and coaching in the continuous development and implementation of safety policies and standards for our growing portfolio of electric products and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization and distribution network to ensure alignment with safety policies.
  • Serve as the interface and representative to the Head of Electromobility Safety, other central stakeholders, and relevant forums.
  • Align with Volvo CE’s strategy and direction for the electromobility safety framework as the Safety Champion in Sales.
  • Assess the impact and implications of new technologies on retail operations in collaboration with stakeholders in Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Technology.
  • Recommend and implement new standards, policies, tools, and methodologies based on organizational needs, driving best practice sharing across Sales Regions.
  • Create awareness and foster a safety culture, leading safety-related training activities for new technologies.
  • Ensure dealer and market readiness for new technologies, including developing training programs, establishing safety organizations, workplace arrangements, risk assessments, and battery handling procedures.
  • Analyze changes to working conditions and regulations, recommending and implementing actions to ensure compliance and employee safety.
  • Guide and coach regional teams and retail operations in developing and implementing safety programs for new technologies.

What You Bring:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power electronics, electrical motors, and battery systems.
  • Experience working with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Product Safety.
  • Proven ability to adapt and implement safety standards and procedures.
  • Leadership and coaching skills for continuous development and implementation of safety policies and standards.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders across an organization and distribution network.
  • Ability to represent and interface with central stakeholders and relevant forums.
  • Strategic alignment with safety frameworks.
  • Ability to assess the impact and implications of new technologies on retail operations.
  • Capability to recommend and implement new standards, policies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience in best practice sharing across Sales Regions.
  • Skills in creating awareness and fostering a safety culture.
  • Proficiency in developing and leading safety-related training activities for new technologies.
  • Experience in securing dealer and market readiness for new technologies.
  • Skills in developing training programs, establishing safety organizations, workplace arrangements, risk assessments, and battery handling procedures.
  • Ability to analyze changes to working conditions and regulations, recommending and implementing compliance and safety actions.
  • Ability to guide and coach regional teams and retail operations in developing and implementing safety programs for new technologies.
