Financial Business Controller, Germany

EasyMining Germany GmbH is looking for a driven and experienced Controller who wants to save the global resources and participate in the transition to a circular economy. We are in the process of commercializing our technologies by building chemical process plants and are therefore now in need of a Controller that manages the financials for the German entities, EasyMining Germany GmbH and Phoshorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH. Do you want to be a part of this new developing circular industry? Job Brief We are constructing our first Ash2Phos plant in Schkopau. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is willing to take responsibility for ensuring that our plant stays on track, aligns with budgets, and achieve its objectives. Responsibilities • Responsible for month-end closing and preparation of monthly financial statements, as well as other operational reports. • Accountable for budgeting and forecasting income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows. • Prepare cost control reports and analyses for the project and operations. • Perform other controlling and accounting activities. • Provide grant management and support. • Communicate and collaborate with financial departments of PGS owners. • Responsible for establishing financial routines and systems. The position will be based in Berlin or Schkopau area. Education & Experience Requirements • You have a university degree in Finance or equivalent and around 5 years of experience in a finance/ controlling related function. • Proficiency in the use of planning tools and the Office package Additional advantages are if you have experience from finance/ business controlling in chemical, mining, or petrol industry. The company is one of Germany´s largest in the water-business and specialises in renewable resources. In 2021, Phoshorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH was formed by GELSENWASSER AG and EasyMining Services Sweden AB to build the first Ash2Phos-plant in the world.The plant will be built at the Schkopau Chemical Park in the Saxony-Anhalt region in eastern Germany, and will have capacity to receive 30 000 ton ash from incinerated sewage sludge per year. Phosphorus and potassium are scarce resources on which the EU heavily relies, importing them predominantly from Morocco and Russia. The manufacturing of mineral nitrogen fertilizers, along with the necessary biological methods for treating nitrogen-containing wastewaters, consumes significant amounts of energy and chemicals. Moreover, the established virgin-based processes result in emissions of greenhouse gases and ammonia, impacting climate, causing eutrophication, and contributing to acidification in nature. EasyMining has developed several patented processes that enable the recovery of clean commercial products using waste as raw materials. Examples of our processes include phosphorus recovery from incinerated sewage sludge ashes (Ash2Phos), nitrogen recovery and energy reduction from nitrogen-containing wastewaters (Aqua2N), and the extraction of salts from fly ash created through the incineration of municipal waste (Ash2Salt).
