Software Test Engineer

Biotage is developing innovative and effective solutions and platforms for the Pharma, BioPharma, Biotech, Diagnostic and Environmental industries. Biotage’s products help our customers’ workflow in the development of new medicines and therapies as well as during analyses of samples, from biological to environmental and food samples.

Our software team within R&D, which is responsible for developing firmware and application software for our instruments, is now looking for a software tester.

As a Software Test Engineer you will mainly work with planning, leading, performing and reporting software test activities, both manual and automated, during product development. You will work in close collaboration with the development team and the V&V team that is responsible for requirements, verification and validation.

Job scope outline

• Conduct and document functional, integration, regression, security and performance testing to identify defects and ensure the overall quality of the software.
• Track defects and work closely with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Create and execute test plans and test cases in Microsoft DevOps.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing and quality assurance.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement of ways of working within the team.

Education and Experience

• B.Sc or M.Sc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices for both front-end and back-end.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar. Experience with Cypress is a merit.
• Ability to write automation scripts.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Azure DevOpsis a merit.
• Experience of working with requirements, verification and validation is a merit.
• Experience from the Life Science industry and instrument developmentis a merit.

Working environment

You will be part of Biotage R&D, report to the Sr Software Manager, and work from our Headquarters in Uppsala, Sweden.
