About the role

The HSE Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe workplace, especially in industries where hazardous materials are present. By developing comprehensive safety programs and conducting thorough risk assessments, you ensure that all company operations adhere to the highest safety standards. Your work not only safeguards the health of employees but also preserves the environment, making them a key figure in promoting a sustainable and responsible corporate culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure safe operations, adherence to environmental requirements on-site and foster an incident-free work environment and conduct high-quality risk observations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement and monitor adoption of company safety standards, programs, and policies to ensure compliance with government health and safety regulations
  • Assure the development of in country HSE-Q annual budget recommendations and implementation to be proposed to management.
  • Conduct regular risk analyses, job safety analyses, and bi-weekly or monthly work environment rounds.
  • Investigate and register incidents and complete incident reports with recommendations for preventive actions.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and conduct employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards.
  • Complete necessary local government reports related to safety with support from the Central HSE organization.
  • Educate employees on the company’s safety culture and procedures, ensuring a deep understanding and integration into daily activities, as well as for workers of third parts operating onsite.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent, especially those recognized in Sweden.
  • Proven experience in an HSE role within the process industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Swedish work environment regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills in Swedish and English

Tyre Recycling Uddevalla AB is part of a new joint venture initiative, promoted and owned by Antin Infrastructure Partners, a leading infrastructure investment fund, Scandinavian Enviro System, a Swedish technology company that has developed a unique and patented technology for the extraction of carbon black and pyrolysis oil from end-of-life tyres, and Michelin, a leading worldwide manufacturer of tyres. The aim of the joint venture is to create the world's first large-scale tyre recycling group, entirely powered by Enviro proprietary technology and whose first plant is the one being built in Uddevalla.

The vision is to create a cleaner and greener world by reducing the environmental impact of tire waste, while offering a profitable and sustainable solution for tire recycling that meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental performance. Scandinavian Enviro Systems, co-investor and technology partner of the initiative, operate since ten years a state-of-the-art tire recycling test facility in Åsensbruk. The plant in Uddevalla will be a significant scale-up and create the basis for taking the technology globally.
