Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Associate Process Engineer to join our Västerås team.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.

As an Associate Process Engineer you will:

  • Contribute to design, test and improve processes for hydrometallurgy on Pilot and lab scale.
  • Evaluate the performance of processes and procedures, and contribute to implement appropriate changes.
  • Contribute to the development of IP for hydrometallurgy blueprint.

Key responsibilities

  • To design, test, analyse, and improve processes and systems for hydrometallurgy on pilot and lab scale, including but not limited to Leaching, precipitation, cementation, filtration, Ion exchange, crystallization units, and others.
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement in operational procedures on pilot and lab scale, including regarding health and safety.
  • To support Q&C activities in Revolt R&D and Pilot plant.
  • To contribute to the development of projects related to Engineering of industrial recycling plants.

Requirements

  • MSc degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mining Engineering or equivalent/another relevant field.
  • Great laboratory skills.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills. Swedish is a plus.

Specific skills

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office package.
  • Familiar with Health and Safety in the working environment
  • Experience with process simulation software is a plus.
