Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a staff electrode engineer. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Wide experiences and know-how to lead the technologies/electrode or cell design.
  • Plan, organize, direct and follow up on project related testing activities.
  • Leading and cooperating with the other departments to implement new electrode tech into the project.
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for the electrode from the development stage to mass production including electrode specification and quality control plan.

Qualifications and experience:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD degree within electrode engineering or relevant field or comparable work experience.
  • +12 years of electrode design experience, where part of the experience is in the field of li-ion batteries.
  • Experience from development and testing of secondary batteries, lithium-ion based technologies is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be in constant interaction with related teams and team members from both the technical and development side.
  • Recognize the risk of electrode development and production.
  • Strong Hands-On computer aided design skills.
  • Knowledgeable and has practiced electrode and cell design, electrode preparation process, cell fabrication and electrochemical performance evaluation.

Specific skills:

  • Excellent English written and oral skills.
  • Ability to work under high pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills and used to manage a range of activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently.
