Global Category Buyer for Metals and Raw Materials

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Global Category Buyer based in our Swedish / Gothenburg office. The Position holder will oversee approximately 60-80M Euro in spend.

Coordinate the global category team and own all relevant strategic global purchasing activities for the assigned direct categories.

The candidate will be actively engaging and executing global and regional contract negotiations, communicate, cooperate with our suppliers and stakeholders and to being the facilitators for solution oriented cross functional teamwork to meet our KA business objectives.

Other activities include development and implementation of category strategies, identify saving opportunities, and lead the supplier review meetings.

This role is a key position and will report directly to the Global Category Director for MET, located in Sweden.

You are a passionate buyer and strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills. With a high level of energy and progressive and innovative ideas. Want to work in a high pace environment and be able to be flexible in the tasks given, going from hands on to strategic work and willing to jump in to support other categories or take on specific projects for a longer or short term when needed. Proven record of working in automotive and in metal raw materials with minimum 5 years expertise in this area to be able to drive this independently.

Qualifications and experience

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the automotive industry, with proven negotiation skills.

· Expertise in global direct material purchasing and supplier management.

· Proven experience of raw material purchasing, in metal areas preferable in brass tubes and pipes

· Analytical and structured and being able to drive the category independently.

· Efficient, proactive and a hands-on approach while being able to create category strategies to be rolled out globally.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Entrepreneurial mindset

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and/or Business Management

· Business fluent in English written and spoken.
