Your responsibilities

Be an expert on subsidies regulation and advise projects how to apply respective rules and guidelines and by this staying informed about relevant regulations and policies governing grant funding and proactively addressing any compliance issues or risks for projects

Analyze and anticipate the impact of changes in the regulatory framework and market conditions on the subsidies and incentives schemes and provide recommendations and guidance for adapting the project strategies accordingly

Check and challenge our projects for compliance and fulfilment with eligibility requirements of suitable funding schemes

Analyse the business models with regard to the necessary structure, quality, completeness and correctness before submitting the application and provide the project team with the necessary feedback

Support with necessary analyses and calculations regarding sustainability, such as GHG emission savings calculations and compliance with Do No Significant Harm rules

Contribute investigations e.g. on competitor and market environment as far as needed in the various funding applications

Establish and maintain relationships with the relevant authorities, agencies, and partners involved in the subsidies and incentives processes, and represent Uniper's interests and positions in the relevant forums, platforms and associations to enhance opportunities for funding and collaboration

Support the development and implementation of best practices and tools for the subsidies and incentives management within the New Green Power and Gas Area and train project teams to increase awareness about what makes funding applications successful

Work closely with the project teams of Unipers New Green Power and Gas Area, as well as Business Controlling, Finance, Corporate Communication and Governmental Relations as well as ESG, Tax, Risk teams and external partners to gather information, coordinate activities and ensure effective implementation of grant-funded projects

The underlying project portfolio include activities in the field of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives, green energy imports, decarbonisation of conventional power generation, battery storage and other developing technologies to decarbonise the energy industry with the exception of renewable energies.


Your profile

  • University degree in either law, economics or political science or a related field with excellent grading
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Funding Management including an understanding of relevant regulations, policies and best practices governing grant funding
  • Understanding of energy markets, together with a sound commercial understanding and knowledge in modelling / analysing business cases, markets and sustainability criteria
  • Existing network in the field of funding preferred
  • An integrative and pragmatic personality with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and interfaces
  • Ability to quickly connect with others and motivate in times of tight and challenging deadlines
  • Precise and accurate working method
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
  • High level of initiative, flexibility, and adaptability, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Intercultural competence
  • Excellent skills in MS Office 365 applications
  • Professional command of English and Swedish (another language of a Uniper core country beneficial)
