Calculation Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for calculation engineers specializing in High Voltage Direct Current and Medium Voltage power systems. Your focused set of responsibilities will emphasize on the technical calculations and analysis required for advanced electrical systems.

As a Calculation Engineer specializing in HVDC and MV power systems you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of advanced electrical transmission systems through precise technical calculations and analyses.

Scope:

The work will include calculations of high voltage transmission (both DC and AC), substations (both land-based and offshore), as well as power grids and battery storage. The work also includes system analyisis, design support, quality assurance, documentation, and reporting.

Requirements:

-Maxwell's equations and Kirchhoff's laws

-Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of HVDC and MV power systems, including DC transmission technologies.

-Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to perform detailed and accurate calculations.

-Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using specialized simulation and modeling software (e.g., PSCAD, PSS/E, MATLAB).

-Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail to ensure precision in all technical work.

-Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve technical challenges.

-Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for documenting and presenting technical information.

Good to have:

-Knowledge of conductors and semiconductors

-Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanics, material science, thermodynamics, or related fields.

-Advantageous to understand Physical principles such as Electromagnetism, electric and magnetic fields, and Gauss's, Ampere's, and Faraday's laws.
