Your Role
As a Combat Systems Ship Integrator (CSSI), you will have an important role with great responsibility in our projects delivering total naval combat systems solutions to the end customer. We integrate a wide range of systems and sensors into solutions which together provide the required capability to our customers. Combat system ship integrators are the ones responsible for integrating all the systems part of a Combat System onto a designated platform.
As a CSSI, your days will be varied and filled with opportunities to demonstrate your problem-solving skills. The level of responsibility you will have will be dependent on the level of experience you have with Combat Systems and/or Ship design and outfitting. Initial responsibilities however will be towards installation data coordination and review. You will work closely with the CS to Ship Manager who has the overall responsibility for the Combat System to platform integration. You will also cooperate closely with both our customers and shipyards, as well as with the sub suppliers to the CS project.
The CSSI section have responsibilities within areas such as Topside, EME, Blanking, Power/HVAC, Network design (CS/Ship or Joint), Time reference, etc. Another important area is Installation Data, where we use the database AVEVA/Engineering/TAGS.
The main tasks are:
* To review (and update where needed) Installation Data for different systems within a Combat Systems scope
* To coordinate the needed Installation Data updates with the project's technical leaders or directly with the suppliers, in order to rectify any discrepancies found
Other tasks might be:
* Participate in meetings with Shipyard, Suppliers and the project Technical Authorities (TA) to help finding solutions to discrepancies found within the Installation Data
* To monitor that Combat System equipment are installed and tested as was defined in the design phase
* To assist CS to Ship Manger by guiding/inspecting the actual work as it is being conducted by the Shipyard personnel
* To address possible discrepancies between detailed design, Combat System requirements, and actual work performed by the Shipyard
* To approve the Shipyard work/tests as they are conducted by the Shipyard personnel
Your Profile
You will be working with the CS Ship teams across several projects, becoming part of a competent and motivated team. To succeed in this role, you must have a keen attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the bigger picture. You should be able to share information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and be a strong communicator in both Swedish and English. Additionally, you should have a collaborative mindset, while also demonstrating the ability to complete tasks independently.
You are self-driven and result-oriented with a "get the job done" attitude. Curiosity and the ability to learn new technical areas are necessary attributes for the role. The ability to take responsibility for the execution and successful completion of assigned tasks within time and budget is essential.
Required experience:
* Background in ship design, particularly in power systems, HVAC, and outfitting, and/or hands-on technical experience aboard naval warships
* A formal degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications gained through professional experience
Desired skills:
* Experience in the naval domain and/or the defense industry
* Experience with cable dimensioning, matching cables/conductors from a cable catalogue with supplier/customer requirements
* Experience in working with AVEVA/Engineering/TAGS
* Experience in working on a higher-level system hierarchy
The position will include travels within Sweden and internationally, depending on the program phase and requirements.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
