Description 

Working as a Mine Geologist within the Geology and Mine Planning department, your main duties will be underground face mapping and drill core logging. As a member of the mine geology team you will continuously update ore models, including interpretation of mineralization, geology and structures. These models constitute an important basis for mine planning.

In this position you will also collaborate closely and exchange information with other geologists, mining engineers, Mine production and Mine Services groups .

To thrive in the role and be able to deliver towards the future of Garpenberg, you will need to have great communication skills, ability to cooperate and collaborate, have a sense of good quality, be flexible and able to pay attention to problems and see solutions.

The position is a permanent, full-time position in Garpenberg. Working hours are regular office hours. Underground work is required within the role. Probationary employment may be applied.

Qualifications

The ability to cooperate and collaborate is a key prerequisite for success in the role of a mine geologist in our team where generating geological context for mine planning is a key component of the job. Communication is an important aspect of the job as a mine geologist, and you must be able to express yourself in English and Swedish both verbally and in writing at a technical level.

For the position, qualifications you need:

• Geology/geoscience degree; Bachelor´s
• Experience of drill core logging or underground face mapping
• Category B driving license

It is meritorious if you have:

• Geology/geoscience degree; Master´s
• Experience of mining industry
• Experience in exploration
• Experience in Leapfrog, Deswik CAD, Deswik Mapping, Wellcad and acQuire
•
