Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Technical Lead with HIL Test automation experience to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.

The role:

Responsible for design and development of validation documentation, test scripts and components. Verification and Validation of Steering Systems integration, HIL Verification & Validation projects for design, development, releasing, integration and delivery of state-of-the-art systems within Engineering, Research and Development. This position would be working within Engineering Research and Development area of Tata Technologies and specifically on Vehicle Programmes. The fast-paced development provides a challenging environment suited to an engineer who can quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with and drive other engineers within a multidisciplinary/global team. Our customers expect high standards and we require staff capable of meeting such demands.

Area of Responsibility:

  • Perform System Integration testing primarily focused on HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) testing of the complete system.
  • Create, document, and execute manual test cases for Autonomous systems.
  • Design, develop, and resolve issues for new and existing software test scripts and components for Steering Systems.
  • Cascade test specifications from system to components and deliver test plans and test designs to the specifications.
  • Conduct software integration tests on the HIL system.
  • Develop automation test framework for CI/CD-based Verification and Validation testing.
  • Supervise the HIL structure, integrating the system into the Continuous Integration Toolchain (Jenkins).
  • Collaborate closely with the HIL Test Automation team to enable HIL Test automation.
  • Work closely with the System Test team to ensure high-quality testing.
  • Work closely with the Test Coordination team to ensure test plan and strategy execution.


Knowledge / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Automotive Engineering preferred.
  • Ideally, extensive experience in automotive systems.
  • Desirable experience in the area of Chassis & Steering domain.
  • ISTQB certification or corresponding test strategies and method understanding.
  • Exploratory testing understanding.
  • Aspice understanding.
  • Expertise in CAN/CANoe, CANalyzer, and similar tools for CAN traffic analysis.
  • Expertise in vTestStudio.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Gerrit/Jenkins/Gitlab.
  • Experience in Python and C++ (basic proficiency, not required to be an expert).
  • Experience in using TCe (Teamcenter), ETAS INCA, Lauterbach, Carcom.
  • Experience with HIL testing using DSpace AutomationDesk, ControlDesk, or Provetech tools.
  • Experience working with CAPL scripting or Python scripting.
  • Experience working with diagnostics and good knowledge of UDS.
  • Experience in planning and managing project-related tasks.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining HIL system verification test cases and test infrastructure.
  • Experience in building and using HIL test setups and system-level test benches.
  • Understanding of functional safety standards and testing principles.
  • Good understanding of system/software testing and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of vehicle network communication technologies.
  • Experience in requirement-based testing/design verification/validation.
  • High level of proactivity and independence.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Experience with National Instruments, dSpace, or Carmaker IPG.
  • Experience in Agile working methodology.
  • EU/Swedish Driver’s License (B).
