The Swedish Club is a world-leading marine insurance company with a rich history and a team of around 85 employees based in the headquarters in Gothenburg.
As the current Marketing and Communications Manager will be on parental leave, we are seeking an experienced Interim Marketing and Communications Manager for a 14-month contract.

About the role as Marketing & Communications Manager


In this role, you will lead and manage the marketing and communications team, working closely with senior management to develop and execute strategies that ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels. You are reporting directly to the Managing Director.

This role is strategic and operational, requiring someone comfortable working hands-on while providing strategic guidance to the team.

Duties and responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop a team consisting of a Communications Executive, Web Manager, and additional support staff. Oversee daily operations and foster a collaborative work environment.

Marketing & Communications Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies in close collaboration with Area Mangers and the management team.

Operational Execution: Work hands-on with the team to create marketing materials, provide guidance on press releases, and support internal teams with presentations and other communication needs.

Corporate Communications: Manage all external and internal corporate communications, including media relations, PR activities, and content creation for various channels, including social media and events.

Budget Management: Take full responsibility for the marketing and communications budget, ensuring efficient resource use and cost follow-up.

Stakeholder Support: Provide expert advice and support to senior management on all marketing and communication-related matters.

Your experience, knowledge and skills

  • Relevant academic background in Marketing or Communications.


  • Preferably +10 years of experience in a similar role with budget and personnel responsibility.


  • Experience working in an international environment, preferably within financial institutions or similar industries.


  • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media strategy and execution is desirable.


  • Knowledge of SEO principles and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus.


  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.


  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience in creating high-quality presentations.


  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

    The position is based in Gothenburg.
