We are looking for our next packaging solution engineer that will support our development and lifecycle teams with technical documentation. If you have a passion for flat boxes and keeping things in order, this could be your next job!

Job Description

The Packaging solution engineer plays an important role in our business and in this assignment, you will be responsible for taking care of and maintaining our packaging documentation when it has been created.

In IKEA we are having a high focus on removing the plastic in our packaging solutions and you will contribute to the implementation of the new solutions, in close collaboration with our suppliers.

It is through our products we secure our mission at IKEA: "To create a better everyday life for the many people". As Packaging solution engineer in our running operations team, you have a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people around the globe.

You see, for us to sell our wonderful products, we need to have correct and complete information in our system, otherwise we lose our steering points. This is where you come in: You will be part of maintaining all data connected to the packaging solutions that our development teams create. You do this in close dialogue with our different development partners and suppliers, so we hope you enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and being part of the action. To succeed in your role, you need to be able to take and give responsibility, lead yourself and work together with stakeholders from different functions and departments throughout our organisation.

So, in short you are going to work with the following areas:

  • Maintain packaging solutions for multichannel and make sure they work through the total value chain and the whole product lifecycle.
  • Keeping the documentation up to date and according to IKEA standards.
  • Securing that the packaging solution meets all legal requirements.
  • You will be part of transforming the IKEA business, so that we stand ready to meet the demands of tomorrow! It will be highly rewarding work. And yes, it will be a lot of fun!

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You are an Engineer in the beginning of your career, with a university degree or equivalent and experience in CAD. If you are having some experience in working with product development and/or creation and maintenance of product documentation, it ́s a plus. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and take the lead in your own work, as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and build good relations based on trust. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.
