Senior Developer

My name is Jakob Alander, and I am Head of Development at Telia Division X. We are a great bunch of diverse people, and I am super proud of every member of my teams.

My colleagues and I are looking forward to onboard a backend or embedded developer who will help us tackle our challenges in building a well-engineered ecosystem around our IoT offer. You will work in one our teams which is fully responsible for the design and operation of 5-10 services. The team consists of both backend and embedded developers to ensure full ownership of the delivery.

The primary location for this job is our office in Umeå since you’ll need access to our hardware lab, and we have a hybrid setup with 3 office days a week.

We are defining Smart Public Transport, any IT-service you can imagine on a bus, train, or a tram, we deliver to our customers. We offer passenger counting, real-time traffic information, eco-driving, signage control, breathalyzer, internet onboard and many other services, to make commuting a safer and more enjoyable experience.

We have our backends in Azure and on prem with both Windows and Linux servers. We develop the software in C# with a lot of integrations to MsSQL, and data is mainly sent over MQTT. Our embedded software runs on Linux and is written in C++ for performance reasons.

Is this you?

As a developer you take pride in writing robust, well tested and readable code that will run either in our backend or on our custom built IoT-devices onboard the buses. You’re familiar with the challenges of data transport over unreliable connections and comfortable with having operational responsibility for your services.

You have a strategic mindset and are a passionate and highly motivated person. You have strong skills in either C# or C++, knowing both is highly meriting.

• Solid experience in either C# or C++
• Unit & integration testing
• Network communication
• MQTT, Git, Bash, Docker, Azure
