NYFORS is now looking for a software and product engineer to our team.

As a leader in cutting-edge technology, we provide solutions across various industries, including Medical, High-Power Laser, Telecom, and Aerospace.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative, high-precision products for optical fiber processing. Your responsibilities will encompass R&D, product development, and experimentation to fine-tune how the software controls the hardware, like sensors and actuators.

The team

We are a skillful and passionate team including development engineers, mechanical engineers and physicists all dedicated to developing new, innovative, high-precision products and systems for optical fiber processing. We think it's exciting to see all high-precision parts come together, software and hardware, and we find it rewarding to witness how the products are successfully used by our customers.

The position

We are a relatively small team, and you have the opportunity to take part in the whole process, from research and development to the end product.

As a software and product engineer in the team, your work will focus on evolving NYFORS' current product portfolio and developing completely new products. As such you will be strongly tied into the development work happening in our laser laboratories.

You will have the opportunity to work together with our mechanical designers, and conduct hardware experiments yourself, to create the next innovative fiber processing tools. Our lab and machines utilize C/C++, C#, and LabVIEW programming languages, and experience in embedded programming and in one or more of these languages is preferred.

We develop everything from UI to the embedded software and it's good if you have experience in multiple areas but most of the work is in embedded programming. Over time you will also get the chance to collaborate with and support our customers that range from universities to small and large industry partners.

Your background

You should have at least 3 years of experience working with software / firmware. It is critical you work well in a team. We prefer if you have interest in process development in addition to software and hardware development. Your education level should be Bachelor, Master or PhD.
