Who we are:In Aftonbladet Product & Tech we provide the 4 million daily users of Aftonbladet with a superior news experience through digital products. With our exceptional journalism, high editorial independence and strong digital development we keep making Sweden a little better, the world a little more comprehensible and life a little easier.The Editorial Tech team focuses on innovative storytelling; working close to our journalists and editorial to create an extraordinary user experience for our readers. On our modern tech stack you will get the opportunity to build solutions from front to back that support our journalistic mission.
Learning and growing together, we do code reviews, pair programming and twice a year company-wide hackathons. We also dedicate 10% of our time (every second Friday) to skill development and innovation.
Our Tech stack: We mostly use JavaScript / TypeScript in our products, with Node, React and Travis CI. We leverage AWS services (CDK, CloudFront, ECS, Lambda, SNS / SQS) and some of our legacy infra is built using PHP and Python.
About you:We are now looking for a full stack engineer who is passionate about building products that delight our users; someone who can take ownership of both frontend and backend and someone who loves to collaborate with stakeholders.
- You have a deep understanding of JavaScript frontend and server-side applications.
- You have a deep understanding of databases, APIs, web performance, scalability, caching and other backend/infrastructure topics.
- You have a good understanding of the concepts of and/or experience with continuous deployment, integration and unit tests, documentation and GitHub
- You are a great communicator, relaxed and confident to interpret the needs of stakeholders and collaborate in a service minded way.
- You are fluent in Swedish.
