You will work with Aftonbladet, Sweden's biggest news source, engaging 4 million people on a daily basis. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to one of the teams in the Aftonbladet brand team.

Aftonbladet is renowned for its groundbreaking independent journalism and commitment to offer an engaging news experience for our audience. Schibsted Media are in it to reinvent our publishing products, investing heavily to build a world-class publishing platform through strong digital development.

As Product Manager you will play a critical role in guiding Aftonbladets development team in building a user friendly and profitable news product, based on modern technology. You will be responsible for managing a cross-functional team within the editorial space on a daily basis. An important part of the job is to work closely with other product managers across Aftonbladet and Schibsted to shape our collaborative and shared platform for news, Core News Product. At this moment we are more or less onboarded to this common platform that we share with Schibsted's other Media Brands: Svenska Dagbladet, VG, Aftenposten etc.

You will report directly to Aftonbladet's Product director.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Be a driving force in the development of the Aftonbladet product
  • Be a champion for the users and make sure we are up to their standards
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders to truly understand their needs
  • Support your team to work as an Empowered product team.
  • Define, visualize and follow up Objectives and Key Results with the team, to make sure we are aligned with stakeholders and business strategy
  • Prioritize, develop and deploy new features and products in collaboration with UX and tech on a daily basis
  • Advocate and implement data-informed development and experimentation to ensure product innovations and business decisions are led by the right data
  • Regularly meet users and participate in qualitative research
  • Do product discovery together with your team
  • Use visionary goals to inspire direction and iterative experiments to continually reach results
We are looking for:
  • A doer with a strong ability to collaborate across locations, functions, and teams
  • A supportive and considerate team player that is able to communicate with all types of internal and external stakeholders
  • An appetite for having and creating fun along the way with a very friendly and engaged team
  • A broad understanding of digital publishing and enthusiasm for journalism and its business
  • An experienced product manager with several years of working experience with a good technical understanding

Product & Tech is responsible for product development in News Media. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. A big part of our work is developing joint technology platforms for Schibsted's news brands. These include platforms for content production and distribution, digital subscriptions, and advertising. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
