Senior Database Administrator

As a Senior Database Administrator in MySQL/MariaDB/MSSQL, you are responsible for the database service including capacity planning, service optimization, backup and schema restoration.

The role also includes tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs. You will also review service related reports (database backups, maintenance, monitoring etc.) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved promptly. It also includes responding to database related alerts and escalations.

As part of a dynamic and exciting IT Operations environment, you will support some of the most prominent Internet based services and media houses in Sweden and Europe. You will get the opportunity to work in a strong and experienced IT Operations department based in central Stockholm, with colleagues in the server-, network-, storage- and client areas.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Daily operations of our 100+ databases
• Perform tuning and query optimization
• Monitor and uphold database health
• Patch, update and deploy databases
• Ensure highest security on database installations
• Work with issues

Skills and expertise:

• 5+ years of MySQL and MariaDB experience
• Experience in MSSQL
• Experience in Amazon RDS, RedShift, PostgreSQL and Oracle is meriting
• Linux and Windows server administration skills
• In depth system knowledge, architecturally driven, strongly focused on monitoring and operation of the applications and systems
• Proficiency in the English language.
