The recently established Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) function will further accelerate SEBs deployment of advanced financial crime prevention capabilities to continuously meet regulatory expectations and to become a leader in fighting financial crime.
It is evident that fighting financial crime need to have an intelligence-led and data-driven approach, where advanced data and analytics techniques such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing will be core components of our FCP effort.
As such we are establishing a Data & Analytics team within the FCP to grow these capabilities and we are now looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the team.

About the job
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of a growing data & analytics team and will have the opportunity make an early impact on the teams output as well as its ways of working. You will be collaborating closely with other data teams and FCP area experts to understand business needs and design and develop predictive models that will help detect financial crime related behaviors. As a senior professional you are also expected to coach and support junior colleagues, as well as being an ambassador for the team when interacting with the rest of the organization. In addition, some of your responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain machine learning (ML) models and operate ML reliably at scale- Perform research within prioritized areas and gain knowledge to keep up with money launderers/fraudsters- Shape hypothesis and assess feasibility of analytics use cases within FCP- Communicate insights and recommendations to technical as well as non-technical audiances through visualization and data story telling

Who are you
We believe a successful candidate has a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations behind classical and recent ML models and algorithms. This knowledge has likely been gained through several years working in a data scientist role and through a technical academic background within mathematics, computer science, engineering, statistics or similar. Through your previous experiences you have gained good programming skills in Python, Spark, and SQL and you're used to working with massive data sets. If you have previously worked within financial crime prevention or the finance sector, that is considered very meriting. In addition, you:
- Are familiar with different ML frameworks such as TensorFlow- Consider yourself a genuine team player and a strong communicator- Have an analytical and curious mindset alongside a strong sense of integrity- Are used to working Agile
