SEB trainee: Product Owner in Stockholm

Interested in joining the SEB journey in the payments and open banking ecosystems with a strong focus on product development?

Working as a Product Owner and participating in SEB's International Trainee Programme will give you a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills in a modern and innovative company.

In your role at Payments, Transaction Services you will work with a product offering that concerns all customer segments, from private individuals to large corporate customers and financial institutions. The task often spans across the SEB Group, which will give you an opportunity to build a broad network in all SEB markets. You will take part in a great change journey that will transform the banking business of the future.

Our offer to you

As a trainee at SEB you will get the opportunity to develop an extensive network, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry, and be professionally and personally challenged.

We offer you:
  • A nine months Trainee Programme starting September 2021, designed for professional and personal development
  • Work with real business challenges and real impact on SEB´s business and organisation
  • The opportunity to work for SEB abroad in connection with the programme (Due to ongoing pandemic the amount of travel and exchanges might be affected. The Trainee Programme will follow the bank´s travel policy and restrictions regarding Covid-19.)
  • Full-time employment with market-based salary and access to SEB´s employee benefits

In your role as Product Owner you will work closely with other Product Owners as well as with Product Managers and Product Specialists across products and offering. You will also have a wide network outside your own unit with stakeholders in all functions of the bank such as IT, operations, sales, compliance and legal. Working with product management means that you will always have customer needs in focus, using agile working methods and Service Design to achieve the development of attractive and competitive product offerings.

You will drive product development within the area as defined in the product plans, ensuring innovation, high quality and cost-efficiency. You will translate the demands into efficient and compliant solutions. The role involves a great variety of tasks and it is a complex and challenging business area to work in, with products such as cross border payments and domestic payments like salary and e-invoicing solutions. This means that the possibilities of professional self-development are extensive.

Your future manager, Kamilla Asp, describes the work at Payments:

"This is a unit that puts customer value really high. We secure global solutions for all our client segments and in this position, you will work in an established business that is developing for the future and has the mandate to influence results. Our work is challenging, complex and extremely satisfying."

Your required skills

We are looking for you with passion for business and a changing environment. We like you to challenge us, now and for the future. Also, we ask for this:
  • An academic degree in Engineering, IT, Economics or equivalent
  • You are, or will soon graduate and have some work experience
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
It is a plus if you have experience leading projects, working with customer service or other service areas and studying or working abroad.

You are a good communicator with skills to present ideas and arguments in an effective way. In this role, you should be able to use your networking skills in a collaborative environment. You will take responsibility and act to make things happen and take lead to reach specific goals in the progressing initiatives.
