Short Role description
Rockwell Automation's Process Technology (PT) business is a specialist division within the company that works on the detailed design and delivery of high tech, innovative process centric projects in key focus areas of the Life Science & Chemical industries, as well as in the
Consumer goods, O&G and Energy industries.
The PT division combines aspects of detailed process chemical design, mechanical design, electrical and instrumentation design in addition to leveraging the broader automation capabilities of the wider company to offer integrated innovative project solutions to our clients.
We require a Senior Process engineer to supplement our engineering delivery team. The candidate is expected to be capable of functioning as a Senior Process / commissioning engineer without direction on process projects in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Petrochemical, and
Fine Chemical, industries.

This role will be responsible for the process design and project engineering co-ordination across multiple projects for all phases from concept through to commissioning. While ensuring that the design meets applicable codes, standards and client's specifications, while achieving project deadlines. Adherence to the Rockwell Automation
(RA) quality system and review of same.
The role is to be based in the Uppsala, Sweden. The candidate needs to be fluent in Swedish & English and be willing to travel regularly to Cork, Ireland to support the engineering design team based in Cork Ireland.

The job
  • Execution of Design Studies including concept, basic and detailed design.
  • Evaluation of Best Available Technologies (BAT) for project requirements
  • Ensuring compliance of design to current local, national and international standards
  • Preparation, execution and reporting for HAZOPs
  • Technical lead in commissioning of distillation system for solvent recovery in the life science industry
  • Co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers and sub-contractors to successful deliver the project
  • Work with Client teams, Construction Managers and Project Managers to define requirements
  • Inspects completed installations to ensure conformance to design, code, and equipment specifications.
  • Develop and maintain all impacted design documents (e.g., P&IDs, mechanical drawings, instruments and process lists, etc.) required to complete project design documents to the client's satisfaction
  • Ensuring compliance of design to current local, national and international standards
  • Ensure speedy resolution of all Technical Queries (TQs)
  • Assist in the generation of and execute/provide support of protocols for commissioning and start up

Core Competencies & Educational Background
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering or similar qualification
  • Experience in a similar role as a senior process engineering across the Pharmaceutical, Biotech,
  • Petrochemical, Fine Chemical, Waste-to-Energy and Oil & Gas industries
  • Experience in designing and construction of plant and modules / skids to comply with, cGMP and US and EC directives, e.g., ASME, ASTM, CE, PED, Machinery Directive, Seveso
  • Fluent in one of the Nordic languages and fluent in English (verbal and written) is a pre-requisite
  • Strong business communication skills, both written and speaking.
