SATELLITE MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL PRODUCTION TECHNICIANS
OHB Sweden is now starting several new projects and are involved in some of the most advanced state-of-the-art missions in the areas of space debris removal, weather forecasting and asteroid exploration.
As a Satellite Production Technician you will be part of the Production Department, who’s primary focus in 2020 will be the build, test and launch of three spacecraft. As can be expected in when building complex systems, the need for mechanical/electrical construction, integration, test support is key to keep the launch deadline.
On the mechanical side, this is mainly tasks in producing and procuring flight and test hardware (jigs, support equipment), integration, inspection, and mechanical testing.
On the electrical side, this is mainly tasks in producing and procuring flight and test harnessing, populating connectors, building test environments, integration, inspection, and supporting functional testing. Position Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanics or Electrical Technics from Technical College/Institute (“Tekniskt Gymnasium”)
- Fluent in Swedish and proficient in English
- Advantageous: Experience in an integration and/or workshop environment, very hands-on skills, experience in integration of complex systems, particular and high attention to detail
The work is mostly executed in a typical office environment, but the hardware is handled in our own clean rooms, electrical labs, propulsion labs, and environmental labs. So being comfortable in a typical engineering office/project environment, whilst also being comfortable in a lab environment, is very important.
Team working and ability to work autonomously are key to a typical day. OHB Sweden is not a large company, and much of the expertise lies on the Engineers and Technicians to handle these tasks quickly, efficiently and work closely with your colleagues! So practical solutions and a “doer” attitude are necessary. Some travel may be required (3-5 trips per year).
If you feel confident that you meet the above requirements, have a strong desire to contribute to space development, work on precis hardware, and can enjoy spending your working hours with contagiously nerdy people, then we are looking forward to hearing from you!
This is your chance to work with hardware that will fly in space!
