Patent Attorneys / Trainees – Hightech & Software - Stockholm

Do you want to contribute to solving some of the world's most imminent problems, turning groundbreaking ideas into investments and world class products? Would you like to be challenged as part of a dedicated/purpose driven team and contribute to creating a more sustainable society in cooperation with key actors within research and development in Denmark - and abroad?

As one of Europe's leading and most respected patent law firms, HØIBERG is the preferred partner of a wide range of growth-hungry startups, deep tech SMEs, R&D intense companies, and world leading research universities. We are now recruiting skilled patent attorneys or patent attorney trainees equipped with an appetite for business and commercialization of R&D and with a PhD and/or industrial experience within any of the fields of physics, quantum computing, robotics, audio, civil / electrical / mechanical engineering, energy technology, computer science, nanotechnology, or closely related fields. We appreciate a mindset equipped with a curiosity for science and technology even outside your core area of expertise. Being a patent attorney requires a high intellectual capacity and excellent analytical skills, and we are looking for ambitious candidates who are naturally inclined to take charge of & responsibility for our clients' inventions from early idea to national right.

HØIBERG as an organization is expanding and the career opportunities within the HØIBERG group are numerous. We offer an international and professional workplace and we are committed to ensuring that our employees thrive and have opportunities to develop their full potential. We actively endorse diversity, equity, and inclusion and offer attractive employment conditions. Your workplace can be any of our offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Stockholm or Lund.

Typical duties as a patent attorney include drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patentability analyses of new inventions, assessment of infringement and validity of patents, strategic IP counselling as well as assistance with licensing agreements, IP due diligence, and litigation. You are a skilled communicator and aim to provide excellent and accurate service to your clients. You speak and write English fluently. Proficiency in Danish or Swedish is a merit. You master the spectra from detail to the big picture. Protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights can be a lengthy process that requires both quick action and great patience. We expect you to be ready to defend our clients' rights with the same passion as if they were your own.

In the absence of prior experience with patents, you will be offered a comprehensive training program during the initial 3-5 years leading up to a European Patent Attorney (EPA) degree. A part of the training is conducted within the framework of your daily work, but you will need to allocate a part of your private time to patent training during the coming years.
