AIMS designs, develops and manufactures inertial sensor systems (IMU) for measuring movements and attitude in a three dimensional world. The products are adapted and optimised for each customer application and are unique within their product area.
AIMS was founded in 2005 in Karlskoga, Sweden, by a number of engineers with a background within military electronic design. The founding idea was to offer and adapt state of the art military technology to commercial applications. The results have been successful and led to further developing of new and highly competitive intertial sensor systems for a variety of applications, including supplying to a prestigious Formula 1 team.
AIMS (Advanced Inertial Measurement Systems Sweden AB) is a fully owned subsidiary of Advanced Stabilized Technologies Group AB (publ).

As a Software Algorithm Designer your main focus is to design Kalman filter and use simulation models to verify the solution before implementation. The Kalman filter will use IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) together with GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and other sensors available to estimate position, velocity and direction. This entails tasks as developing, coding, testing and debugging software - always with the focus to enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of the systems resources.
You work with signal processing, sensor technology and error modelling. yYou are responsible for filters and the algorithm development. You work closely together with your colleagues within a small team. As you grow into your position you will become an important part of the company and you are expected to contribute to the continued development of the products and business. - You have a degree in an Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Software Engineering or similar
- Experience of working or studying Kalman filter and/or sensor fusion solutions
- Experience in signal processing and embedded development are meritorious
- Fluent in English, Swedish are meritorious
