Senior Risk Officer

Right now, we are looking for a passionate and experienced risk officer to be part of our Group GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) team at Telia Company. Telia Company is a leading digital communications company on a mission to reinvent better connected living for consumers and businesses across the Nordics and Baltics.

Your responsibility will be to help develop and manage the execution of Telia Company’s risk program, frameworks and processes in close cooperation with the line organizations throughout our markets. As a part of our Group GRC team, you will help maintaining and strengthening a core culture where risk management, compliance and strong business ethics are central to everything we do.

In the position as Senior Risk Officer you will help us pave new ways of thinking and working with our GRC processes. We are implementing and digitalizing a group wide GRC framework that will unleash new opportunities to improve risk assurance and compliance throughout our organization.

My name is Håkan Kvarnström and I am heading the Group GRC team at Telia Company. Our team strives to be role models, supporting our company when addressing uncertainty and acting with integrity, always promoting a trusted and sustainable business model. The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Develop and manage execution of Telia Company’s risk program in close cooperation with Risk Management Coordinators and Risk Area Coordinators throughout our line organization.
• Drive and support group wide implementation of risk management throughout our organization.
• Oversee the operational effectiveness of the risk management processes across the Group and propose actions for improvement. This includes oversight of risk assurance and risk appetite.
• Facilitate risk workshops and assessments on key risk areas in cooperation with the line organization.
• Drive and facilitate the definition and balancing of risk appetite of our risk universe and other material risks in dialogue with risk area owners, line organization and other key stakeholders.
• Develop and implement frameworks and processes for effective risk control and assurance.
• Develop risk metrics and KPI’s as well as KRI’s (key risk indicators).
• Support the implementation of group wide processes and tools for GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance).
• Writing and facilitate approval of policies, instructions, and guidelines within the area of Risk Management & compliance.
• Supporting in organizing and facilitating group risk committee meetings as well as preparing reports and material for Audit Committee. This includes organizing and being a major contributor to the Telia Company’s Risk & Compliance reports.
• Stakeholder management of key internal and external stakeholders related to Risk Management and GRC.
• Help maintaining and strengthening a core culture where risk management, compliance and strong business ethics are central to everything we do.

Your Experience:

• A minimum of university degree equivalent to master’s degree (Science, Finance, legal or related degree).
• Around 8-10 years of experience in risk management or other relevant assurance functions.
• Highly developed skills in analytical and strategic thinking
• Proven ability to identify and analyze complex problems and develop pragmatic workable solutions.
• Excellent program management skills and the ability to influence and drive deliveries from all parts of the organization.
• Have the relevant experience to be a trusted business partner in the risk area
• Skilled in implementing management standards and best practices (e.g. Coso, ISO 22301 and ISO31000 standards)
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
