Young Potential Trainee Program aims to speed up young potentials development, preparing you for a future managerial career in an international environment. The programme is a cross functional cooperation to let you exchange experience and learnings that will provide you with a network and a large knowledge about Scania and TRATON GROUP. The programme is a great start to your career at Scania. We aim for holders of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a maximum of three years’ of work experience after graduation.
What’s in it for you?
You will be employed from day one. Your base will most likely be at one of our offices in Södertälje. Depending on the covid-19 situation some remote work might be required.
Your programme will be built on a personal development plan created together with your appointed managerial mentor, based on competence fulfilment set from the programme.
You should be prepared to take on assignments globally for a minimum of three months, within TRATON GROUP and within Scania commercial operations.
The programme runs for 15 months, starting 23 August, 2021. We will start with an onboarding to get an overall view of Scania and TRATON GROUP. Your networking starts here!
During the programme we will conduct modules based on learnings about Scania, TRATON GROUP, personal development etc.
IT, Tech and Digitalization
IT, tech and Digitalization is transforming the eco system of transport and logistics. Software can be found everywhere at Scania, in our products and in the systems supporting our operations. And we are adapting our culture, leadership and organization to continue to stay head.
For our operations we have high ambitions in automating business, from when a transport need surfaces to when we build a vehicle to when we get paid. With the highest focus on customer and user experience, we make use of modern methods and latest tech like Advanced Analytics, Amazon Web Services, Digital Twins and Industry 4.0 tech and mindset.
Sustainable Transport Solutions of the future will be based on software making our products Autonomous, Connected and Electrified. Your future mission could be to lead the development of innovative battery management systems, clouds that coordinate our vehicles and tools to analyse the efficiency of a fleet.
As a trainee within IT, Tech and Digitalization we expect you to show us the way. You know how to build an organization that is fast in adapting to new changes coming at us and can handle future business models just as our strong heritage.
To qualify for the Young Potential Trainee Program, you are about to finish your Bachelor´s or Master´s degree latest this summer or have a maximum of three years of work experience after graduation.
Scania & TRATON Group have global presence, for this reason it is a prerequisite that you speak and write English fluently and other languages are seen as an advantage.

Due to the reason that some assignments during the program will take place outside of Sweden for at least three months you need to be an EU-citizen or have a Swedish permanent residence permit, otherwise we risk to interfere with the migration rules for Sweden.
If you currently study outside of Sweden or have a foreign degree from your highest studies you need to get your degree verified by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. Please visit https://www.uhr.se/ to get recognition of your foreign qualifications. Note that this process can take up to six months.
A complete application includes a cover letter, CV and a summary of grade records or your degree certificate. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
As the first part of the selection process we use web based psychometric test in order to get an unbiased screening. The tests will be sent to everyone who meet our base requirements mentioned in the ad. We will then make a selection based on the test results. Now we will start to look at your CV, formal education/qualifications and your previous experiences. If selected to an interview we will also go into your professional interests and personal competencies.
