Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Your tasksAs a competence group leader, you are leading a cross-functional team of engineers who have the common goal to develop workshop tests. Workshop tests are computer-controlled routines which the mechanic can run in the workshop. The idea is to be able to pinpoint which part of a component has failed and thus avoid the replacement of the entire component. This computer-aided way of finding faults in an engine reduces waste and saves money for both Scania and the customer.
The competence group includes representatives of the engine controls, workshop software, engine production, and our stakeholders. Together, the team goes through the entire development cycle, from requirement analysis to verification in the truck. The workshop tests are governed via a central framework which you design and implement in both C and Simulink. It is you who is responsible for this central logic and you have an overview over all tests. An exciting challenge is to identify similarities between the tests and to create synergies by designing reusable functions.
Development opportunitiesYou will get an insight into many areas of engine development. At the same time you will learn how Scania works in the workshops and in the engine production. You will be able to build up a large professional network.
As a competence group leader you can hone your leadership skills because time plans and communication are the foundation of an efficient competence group. You will also get to spend time with development and coding of the framework. Here you have the opportunity to experience how your functions work in practice in a truck.
With a combination of cross-functional work, leadership and function development, this position offers a fantastic chance for growth in both leadership and technical competence.
Your profileYou have at least 2 years' experience as a software developer and you enjoy developing a product in a cross-functional team. You need the following skills:
- Development of embedded systems in C
- Matlab / Simulink
- Ability to set and follow a time plan
- Basic knowledge about combustion engines
- Fluent English, Swedish is a very strong merit
- Diagnostic protocols (UDS, J1939) are a merit
