Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

We are now looking for two new colleagues FOR E-MOBILITY and COOLING COMPONENTS.

The department Project Purchasing Powertrain purchases parts and components for our global truck, bus and engine production. Meaning everything that makes the vehicle move. We are currently in an intensive period with a lot of new projects, many of them carried out together with our colleagues within the TRATON group. Therefore we are looking for a new committed team member interested in business and new technologies, such as e-Mobility.

Me - the recruiting manager

I have a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and have spent 28 years at Scania in many different exciting roles. At Purchasing, where I have been mainly in managing roles I have particularly enjoyed the commercial content and technical depth of my assignments.

People consider me as a calm, solid and supportive manager. I will encourage you to reach challenging targets through strong team work with colleagues and my empowerment.

I am married and have four children keeping me busy. I prefer spending time with my family and running, sailing or hanging out with friends.

The team

The Project Drivetrain components team has an open atmosphere, good knowledge transfer and always help each other out. The group consists of six purchasers with different backgrounds, nationality, genders and experience. The team is responsible for the purchasing of Cooling components, Filters, Clutches and e-Mobility components, such as High Voltage Batteries and Power Electronics. In our daily work we participate and have the possibility to influence Scania’s drive towards the shift of sustainable transports solutions where e-Mobility have a big part.


As a Project Purchaser within Powertrain Purchasing you will be responsible for optimisation of technology, quality, delivery and cost for components within new projects. You take an active role in the both pre-development as well as industrialisation projects to find the best technical and commercial solution for Scania.

Focus is on challenging and improve design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure implementation of your components in production while meeting the project targets. You lead the discussion with suppliers all the way from concept development until the start of production. You play a key role in supplier scouting, request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis, nomination of suppliers as well as in implementation.

The work gives a great opportunity to get in touch with new technology both within mechanical and electronical areas. While working in new projects you get the opportunity to work cross functionally together with representatives from Quality, R&D, Production and After Sales among others.

  • You are an engineer or business graduate with at least 8 years’ experience from purchasing/sales or engineering working with supplier developed components
  • You have a commercial interest, are result oriented, have strong ability to take initiative, are able to handle multiple open cases and have the ability to look ahead and think strategically.
  • You are good at maintaining relationships and enjoy having many contacts, both internally and externally.
  • As the role involves a large international network and travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken English. Swedish is an advantage as well as other language skills.
