Project Purchasing Manager – Project Master Team, SCT

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide. We are looking for a Manager to lead the Project Master Team (SCT) within the Purchasing department Cab & Electronics (SC). You will be responsible to drive and coordinate purchase activities in pre-development and development projects for components connected to Cab and Electronics.

Main tasks

You will lead a team of six dedicated purchasers to deliver results within three main areas:
  • Source and coordinate deliveries of prototype parts needed for all truck and bus projects in the running PD-Projects.
  • Handle administration of RFQ’s for parts in new projects and make sure they include sufficient information. Follow up that quotations are received in time and are prepared for final negotiations to follow project time plans.
  • Lead the project coordination at SC in order to highlight deviations and keep the project planning systems updated with the best known information. Provide management with accurate information and status for upcoming project milestones in the PD-Process.
Tasks and deviations will be handled and solved in close cooperation with other project purchasing groups, R&D, Production, Sales & Marketing and the Project office. You will represent the department in various cross functional decision forums and with active involvement in the PD-Process striving to achieve sufficient design and quality at the lowest possible cost.

As purchasing manager you will be a member of the Purchasing Cab & Electronics management team, where you take part in the continuous development of the department and contribute to our results.

Experience in purchasing or project management would be an advantage for you in the selection process. You probably understand Swedish and speak and write fluent English.
