Thesis project at Scania is an excellent way of making contacts for your future working life. Many of our current employees started their career with a thesis project.

Background:

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. One big change on this journey is that Scania has to become a Data Driven Company, meaning we aim for more data driven tools in our way of working at Scania R&D. The digital tool chain of today contains more than fifteen applications that are used during the whole process of developing the electrical system of a truck or bus.

Target:

Digitalizing and visualizing the process for way of working with the tool chain at Scania R&D. The process is defined, but user interface and adjustments to it according to users’ needs will be done. The process for way of working should be implemented in a digital portal.

Assignment:

The assignment is to:
  • Investigate and choose technique to visualize the process in the web portal
  • Implement the process in the web portal
  • Interact with different users of the process to understand and clarify their needs
  • Work should be performed in an iterative and agile way with sprint planning, demos for continuous feedback from users and stakeholders and retrospective.
