For Sandvik Coromant and our Digital Platform team in Gimo, we're now looking for a structured and curious Solution Architect to engage in our work with Industry 4.0. Someone with a passion for technology, manufacturing and teamwork, who's eager to join an exciting company with many opportunities for both personal and professional growth!
Sandvik Coromant in Gimo is a great place to work, just a short stop from cities like Uppsala, Stockholm and Gävle. Our production site is a renowned high technology facility with major focus on automation, digitalization and sustainability. We're also a market-leading manufacturer of products for metal cutting, and we employ over 1 400 brilliant minds. Development is in our DNA and we're proud to create solutions that truly shape the future of manufacturing!
About the job
In our production flows, we're mostly using automatic processes and robots – all the way from managing raw materials to finalized product – and some production cells are run completely without any human interaction. It's an environment that places great demands on connectivity and information management between our software and machines, but also creates important benefits in analytics, accuracy, efficiency and economy.
Joining us as Solution Architect within the area of Industry 4.0 and machine analytics, you're responsible for managing the interfaces of our machines, focusing on meeting KPIs and establishing maximum availability and insight. You design, develop and maintain strategies as well as actual machine data connections and analytics, and your objective is set on continuously improving our production and ways of working. As Gimo is our largest production unit, this is where we initially develop and test the efficiency and profitability of new machine solutions before we launch them to other global sites. As part of this process, you create and sustain roadmaps, templates and guidelines while you proactively develop new interfaces in order to meet future demands.
As for your location, we offer some flexibility, but you do need to spend time in Gimo on a weekly basis as you work in very close collaboration with our on-site production teams, internal stakeholders and take part in development projects. Some travel is normally also included in the job.
We're looking for a detailed and visionary Solution Architect with social confidence and a collaborative mindset, and we see that your background is most likely formed within automation, maintenance, engineering or similar. You truly enjoy some good problem-solving, testing scenarios and evaluating different angles, and you team up with colleagues and partners to improve our machine data connections. On the other hand, you have no problem finding that independent drive to finalize assignments on your own. Through organized and proactive ways of working, and with focus on quality and customer needs, you make sure that we always improve ourselves and that we continue to be a frontrunner in automated manufacturing methods.
You have a relevant academic degree or the corresponding work experience, and you thoroughly understand production IT and automation connected to the industry. You're also eager to dig deep into how new technology, digital development and thoughtful interfaces can enhance manufacturing operations. Experience from software, control systems and industrial IT integrations are highly beneficial, as is knowledge of CNC-machinery. Since we work locally in a global setting, you must also communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
We honestly believe that our diversities lead to a successful business environment, and we're looking forward to meeting you. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about Sandvik Coromant, we recommend a visit on our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page.
