We are looking for an Analyst to join our commodities team in Oslo. The primary focus of SEB' commodities business is dealing in commodities by its corporate clients. The business is executed by sales at the different geographical sites and facilitated by the centralized commodities trading desk in Stockholm. SEB' industrial client base is large and wide and as a result we are dealing in almost all commodities there are. SEB has a commodities research activity in Oslo, Norway. The primary task is to support the corporate clients in their dealing in commodities with SEB through a large variety of published commodity reports as well as client meetings and discussions. The unit has a running dialog with the trading desk in Stockholm and with SEB' commodities sales staff across the geographic sites. It is also a part of the wider macro research team in the bank. What you will be doing The commodities space is large and multifaceted, and the green transition has placed an additional layer of complexity on top. Thus, topics of research is close to endless and in constant change. Your tasks will be to publish regular commodity reports, build, maintain and automate as far as possible both new and existing models as well as researching totally new commodities or commodity aspects. As experience is accumulated you will increasingly talk with clients both internally and externally.
Who we are looking forWe expect you to have a higher education with high average grades in engineering, natural sciences or economics. You should preferably have a 1-3 years of relevant analytical experience from a commodity related business or a financial institution. You must be good with numbers in order to do the research. You must be good with words to produce the reports. You must be a good talker in order to communicate with our clients. You must be inspired and enthusiastic to get the message across. And lastly you must be philosophical and imaginative in order to look into the crystal ball and create a vision of the future.
