About the role
Numascale has developed and productized several generations of Cache Coherent node controller ASICs, the latest using Intel's UPI technology. The Numascale node controller roadmap is in cadence with Intel's generations of server CPUs. The high-performance ASIC enables system vendors to build 8s, 16s and 32s single node scale-up servers. Major applications are SAP HANA, Big Data Analytics, Graph Processing, Deep Learning and general purpose HPC applications.

The RTL team has its base in Numascale headquarters in Oslo. You will work in an international company with 40 highly skilled engineers spread on several geographical locations in Europe, USA and Asia.

Job duties
You will use agile methods to lead our RTL team in developing the next generation of NumaConnect, a high performant and cost-effective Node Controller ASIC from Numascale. From the total of 40 engineers, 15 work on RTL. The system complexity and aggressive specifications will give you and the RTL team interesting challenges.

Your strong skills in digital design and RTL will be essential when coaching team members and ensuring timely delivery of excellent quality RTL. The review process in Numascale is distributed and you are expected to have strong opinions and contribute in maintaining the Numascale R&D manual, related methodologies and guidelines.

The RTL delivered by your team will be scrutinized by the verification and architecture teams, prototyped by the FPGA team and implemented by the synthesis and back-end teams. Your delivery must satisfy all their requirements for tool support, testability, performance, etc. It is essential that you understand the full flow from high level specifications to completed netlist, including lint, verification, synthesis and logic equivalence checking. You and your team will mostly use Synopsys tools and write your RTL in SystemVerilog.

You will take part in weekly meetings with all teams and team leads. It will be your job to voice the concerns of the RTL team to architects, synthesis, verification and management. You will be reporting to project management.

To qualify you need to have the following skills and experience:
  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience doing HDL design
  • Excellent English skills, both oral and written
