The role:

The Senior Design Researcher is a key member of the Verisure Global Design Team. The role will be based in Malmö, Sweden with some European travel required and a hybrid-remote working model.

The Senior Design Researcher, with a focus on Strategy and Innovation, will use their core research skills to understand and advocate for the user's experience while working closely with a wide cross-functional team contributing to innovation process and early exploration of UX strategies and future products and services.

The role will be an excellent communicator and flexible team player. The Design Researcher must be comfortable working closely with passionate designers, marketeers, business analysts, engineering and product teams that are deeply concerned about the creation of a great consumer experiences.

The Senior Design researcher will be the key player to transition designs from exploration into development, maintaining the user's needs and value.

Main Responsibilities

Main responsibilities will include using design research as a foundation to explore strategically important products, services, and UX strategies for Verisure's users now and in the future. Key tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Frame, diagnose and explore strategic and user-centered challenge and opportunities for Verisure's current and future customers.
  • Conduct original research using a variety of methodologies (especially qualitative user-centered and futures thinking techniques) to inspire, inform, and improve UX strategic hypotheses.
  • Identify, collect, and frame existing research and data from around the company that support or challenge user-centered hypotheses during the exploration phase.
  • Drive the collaboration with agencies who are supporting strategic design projects.
  • Triangulate data and research to generate user-centered strategic insights with actionable opportunities and recommendations.
  • Advocate for the user in any strategic discussions and pro-actively evangelize strategic research results among key stakeholders across the company.
  • Foster product and service creation and refinement using evidence-based user needs.
  • Enable an evolving, yet shared user-centered vision among all who engage with a strategic challenge or opportunity being explored.
  • Combine the business, technology, and user centered perspectives to communicate the UX strategy with a variety of compelling storytelling techniques.
  • Using the insights as a foundation, facilitate workshops and other co-creation activities to explore and tangibly express a multitude of potential UX solutions quickly during in the early phases of design exploration.
  • Define experience outcomes and help to identify key business metrics relevant for strategic explorations.
  • Test the UX strategies with real users.
  • Present the insights and strategies to a variety of audiences, from executives to engineering development teams.
  • Facilitate the design into the product development process.
Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications
  • 5+ years in qualitative or quantitative research methods. Hands on experience with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  • A proven track record of successfully applying design research and strategic thinking to products or services with measurable business impact.
  • A solid understanding of typical business practices and past experience with connecting design outcomes with business metrics.
  • Experience with trend forecasting or futures thinking techniques
  • Possess exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills to relay complex information in a simple, clear, and concise manner.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and other design software that aid in the delivery of high-quality presentations and communication materials to a variety of stakeholders from executives to engineers.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken forms.
  • Deep understanding of Design and design processes.
  • Proven ability to work within a variety of modern project management methodologies (ex. Agile, lean UX, integrated thinking, etc.)
  • University degree in Design, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Human-Psychology, Computer Science, Computer Interaction, or any other related field.
