We have five restaurants on board where the menus range widely. Our buffet restaurant, 7 Seas, provides breakfast and dinner for hundreds of guests. At the same time, our steakhouse serves top-quality steaks, while our Italian restaurant, Little Italy, serves delicious pasta dishes and crispy pizzas. Our fine dining restaurant, Sea, offers an unmatched a la carte menu driven by Michelin ambitions, while our corporate restaurant, Blue Riband, provides the setting for larger groups and special events on board.

We only work with the best ingredients in all our restaurants, and you will have ample opportunity to gain experience across all concepts. We have guests of all ages and from many different countries. As part of our restaurant team, you will be given a central role on board the ship when we together give our guests the special experience of enjoying a dinner at sea.

THE JOB

As a chef at DFDS you get a unique opportunity for a varied and exciting everyday life, where you get the opportunity to try our hand at the different restaurants we have on board. You become responsible for your own party, self-control, but also the training of students. You become part of a team that takes great pride in high quality and good ingredients. We are always listening to new ideas, so you have room to come up with your own ideas and creative inputs.

YOUR PROFILE
  • You must have completed a chef training.
  • You must be able to speak either Danish, Swedish or Norwegian, and be able to communicate in English.
  • You have a great passion for food and fresh produce.
  • You are responsible and can maintain the overview, even in busy situations.
  • You are flexible, enterprising and have good collaboration skills.
THE PRACTICAL

The work is carried on board the ship. Here you need to be set to a working rhythm where you work 14 days, after which you have 14 days off. The working day is typically between 10-13 hours a day.

The salary follows the agreement between DFDS A / S and Metal Maritime. It is net pay that is not taxed (DIS) when you reside in the EU.

We offer free boarding and lodging when you are on board. When you are not on guard, you have the opportunity to relax with your colleagues or exercise in our fitness center. We also offer staff benefits, which include free trips with family and friends

On the route between Copenhagen and Oslo, DFDS will sail two ships, CROWN SEAWAYS and PEARL SEAWAYS. The vessels function as floating hotels and serve up to 780,000 passengers from around the world annually. Each crossing takes approx. 17 hours and along the way there are a wide variety of offers: five different restaurants, a wine bar, a pub, Nightclub, Disco (Crown), Espresso House, Pool areas, Tax Free shopping and Conference center. The ships' crews consist of approx. 350 people per ship. The hotel department is approx. 280 people, and is thus the largest part of the crew.
