We are now looking for a Business Developer for Ernströmgruppen, an exciting Nordic industrial conglomerate.

Water & Energy is one of Ernströmgruppen’s largest business areas. Over the last 3 years Water & Energy has doubled in size to about SEK 1 billion, with the ambition to double again over the next 3 years. As the business area is growing, the existing business area team, consisting of the business area head and CFO, needs to be complemented with a driven business developer, to help deliver on the ambitious plan. In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with the head of business area and CFO in developing the growth strategy for Water & Energy and define development projects across the companies in the business area
  • Act as sparring partner and strategic support to the CEOs and management teams of the 13 companies, and help them develop and implement business plans to capture profitable growth and contribute to a sustainable future
  • Identify M&A opportunities and drive commercial due diligence projects during ongoing acquisition processes.
During your first year, you will have an initial rotation at Ernströmgruppen’s central team, in order to get to know all of Ernströmgruppen’s business areas, business philosophy, develop your toolbox, and establish a strong professional network. Here you will work closely with Ernströmgruppen’s head of business development, acquisition team and group CEO and CFO. You will work on business development and M&A related projects across the group, with an emphasis on the Water & Heating business area where you will continue your career after the initial rotation. Long-term, Ernströmgruppen has the intention to also offer opportunities for a transition into a line leadership role.

We are looking for candidates with an MSc in Engineering or Business/Economics, having worked 3-5 years in a leading management consulting firm, or from relevant roles in business development, strategy management or acquisitions. You have experience from independently managing projects related to strategy and business development topics in different team settings. You are genuinely interested in the commercial aspect of business development and in developing companies and have the ability to work through and solve problems with quantitative thinking and conceptual analysis.

As a person, you are driven, ambitious and analytical with strategic and conceptual talents. You are curious to learn about new businesses, markets and to identify business opportunities. And you are a non-prestigious team player who enjoys connecting with and supporting different management teams. You can communicate effectively in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
