your new day-to-day
Together with talented colleagues, you will participate in the task of building the accounting functions in-house at Mariager Salt Specialties A/S, where your main focus will be on general accounting. You will be a part of office in either Mariager, Denmark or Gothenburg, Sweden depending where you are from.
To succeed in this role, you and your colleagues will work closely together with the Nordic accounting team, which is located in Denmark and Sweden. This requires 1-2 days of travelling every other month to other offices primarily within DK/SWE and you will be in direct reference to the Financial Accounting Manager, who is located in Sweden. In addition to this, the team will also collaborate with the accounting team in the Netherlands and Group Finance in France as Mariager Salt Specialties A/S is a part of the Groupe Salins. .

On day-to-day basis, you will be working in compliance with the accounting standards and the group's business rules on following tasks:

  • Recording of bank accounting transactions
  • Recording of payroll transactions
  • Bank reconciliation, payroll reconciliation
  • Follow-up of investment demands
  • Clearing, review and justification of general accounts
  • Preparation of tax declarations and financial statements
In terms of reporting, you will also be dealing with following tasks:
  • Participation in the works of monthly and annual closing according to the closing deadlines
  • Preparation of closing documents
  • Preparation of financial statements and reporting
  • Reconciliation of Intercompany accounts
  • Preparation of auditing of accounts
  • Participation in accounting projects

your background

Preferably you come with a strong practical experience, which makes it easy for you to familiarize yourself with new processes and ways of working.
Besides that, you meet the following criteria:
  • Min. 3 years of working experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or the equivalent
  • Experience with IT accounting (preferably SAP) and Excel
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
As a person, you are a team player who is helpful and ready to share knowledge with the accounting team so that you can succeed together, but you also manage to work independently with your area of responsibility. Your positive mindset comes into play when you collaborate closely with both colleagues and stakeholders.
You are able to navigate in a changing environment and prioritize your tasks accordingly, always making sure to meet the deadlines.

Every day, the site in Mariager is securing supplies to global pharma clients and the Scandinavian food industry in collaboration with their owners, French Group Salins.
The site in Mariager is known for being a front-runner and very solutions-oriented when it comes to testing new concepts from both a management and technological point of view. A position that was strengthened in 2020, which is important for a small site in an international group.
