Sourcing Manager

Valueone is recruiting an analytical Sourcing Manager with solid experience from strategic sourcing in an industrial company for an automation company, north of Stockholm. As a Sourcing Manager you will be given the opportunity to work in an international environment with a global supplier base, as well as internal functions within operations, R&D and product managers around the world.

The role
As Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for categories Rubber and Polyurethane as well as driving initiatives within other commodities such as machining. You are expected to take an active part in driving improvements of processes and methods and secure procurement’s deliverables in NPI projects.

You report to the Head of Procurement.

Main tasks:

• Supplier search and qualification of new suppliers globally.
• Proactively evaluate, develop and quality assure the supplier base.
• Negotiate prices, terms and conditions and set up agreements with key suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment terms over time.
• Drive cost improvement in supply chain through different types of initiatives, such as, supplier changes, specification changes and cost-out projects.
• Drive and monitor compliance activities in the supplier base.
• Participate in new product introduction and product maintenance projects, drive strategic supplier selection, prototyping, samples and parts qualification.
• Drive process improvement and implement tools and methods within the sourcing team well as cross functional.

Experience and competencies
For the role as Sourcing Manager, we are looking for an experienced sourcing expert with strong negotiation skills and ability to drive and lead sourcing initiatives independently. The role demands a higher degree in Engineering, Industrial management, Supply Chain Management or similar as well as a minimum of seven years’ work experience with strategic sourcing preferably in an industrial company. We value a background within commodity sourcing and/or project sourcing and a good understanding of manufacturing technologies. Fluency in English oral and written is required.

The person we are looking for should find it easy to communicate and build relationships. Furthermore, you are structured and analytical with good problem-solving capabilities. For success in the role, it is important that you have experience in search, qualification and development of suppliers. Knowledge of tool polymer parts and materials is an advantage.
