Financial Controller/Senior Financial Controller

We are now looking for an experienced and communicative Financial Controller to complete our Financial Controlling team in Sweden. If you consider yourself as a flexible person who is willing to take initiative to fix and develop things - then this job is for you!

As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for financial controlling of specified reporting units of Outokumpu Group in Sweden. You'll be a part of close team that consists of 4 people. The main responsibilities for the country controlling team are statutory reporting, overseeing the monthly financial IFRS reporting, tax compliance, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

You will interact with several stakeholder groups including our Global Business Services centre, various corporate functions such as tax, treasury, and legal, as well as local business entities, governmental agencies in Sweden and business controllers from the mills.

You will be located on one of our sites in Sweden: Degerfors, Avesta or Torshälla/Nyby with hybrid opportunities

Main responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations
• Identifying accounting and financial issues and suggest timely solutions
• Key role in ensuring correct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing figures and coordinating closing processes
• Taking part in Controlling compliance to local and Group policies and procedures
• Support in improving local financial accounting processes
• Coordinating audit processes of the responsibility entities
• Tax reporting to local authorities
• Implementing and creating internal controls (in case they're missing)
• Actively taking part and leading development projects

Who are you?

• University degree in finance or other relevant education
• Minimum 7 years of controlling and accounting (IFRS, Swedish GAAP) experience
• Strong understanding of Swedish laws and regulations impacting financial management
• Industrial work experience would be considered as an advantage
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently
• Fluency in Swedish, English level B2-C1 or above
• Willing to leave your desk and get to know people and the operations of the company
• You are willing to travel occasionally
