Head of Communications Sweden and Technology Solutions

Responsibility
Reporting to the global Chief Communications Officer, the Head of Communications Sweden and Technology Solutions is responsible for driving internal and external communications for the company in the Swedish market. In addition, this person is also a key communications advisor to the newly developed global business Technology Solutions (combining the current businesses Polymer Chemistry and Pulp and Performance Chemicals). In other words, you will be where the action is and play a large role in influencing our leaders to use the tools of communications as smart and efficient as possible. The role has a high impact and gives you the oportunity to work independently.

As such, you will identify key PR opportunities and potential reputational threats for the country and business to develop and execute external and internal communication plans accordingly. This includes advising the country and business leadership on strategic communications issues to help drive employee engagement and company growth and strengthen the company reputation.

Main responsibilities
  • Maintain close relations with key national and local media and act as the company spokesperson – including in crisis situations
  • Oversee emergency communication processes, including trainings and setting up 24/7 emergency support for production sites in the region
  • Implementation of global programs and campaigns locally
  • Works closely with the business leadership team to identify opportunities and threats and develop and implement communication strategies accordingly.
  • Advise the business on strategic communications and issues management.
  • Advise on internal communications for the business and its production sites in the Europe region

Qualifications
  • An experienced communications professional, with a proven track record in internal and external communications, including crisis communications
  • Acting as a spokesperson and able to empower business leaders to become better spokespeople
  • Translating business priorities to communication plans
  • Team player with an open and energetic can-do attitude, easy to shift between tasks and responsibilities who can work independently as well. Able to perform under pressure and prioritize rigorously if needed.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, with strong verbal and writing skills

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Chief Communications Officer and based in Bohus (10 minutes from Gothenburg by train), Sweden.
